Ask These 5 Questions Before You Buy

1. What’s the battery’s State of Health?

2. How much battery warranty is left, and does it transfer?

3. Heat pump or resistive heater?

Follow-up if they provide a number: “Can you send me the report or a photo of the screen?” If they cannot provide it: “Would you be open to a VoltScore or AVILOO test if I cover it?”

If yes: “Is there a transfer fee or paperwork I need to file?” If they don't know: “Can you give me the VIN so I can confirm with the manufacturer?”

If they don't know: “Can you check the window sticker or original build sheet?”

4. What charging port does it have, and was it regularly fast-charged?

5. Where did it spend winters?

If they say always fast-charged: “Was it mostly road trips, or was that your daily routine?”

If outside: “Was it plugged in overnight in deep cold, or just left to sit?” If garage: “Heated or unheated?”
